How many calories in cabbage?

For example, we give the caloric content of different types of cabbage per 100 g of product in ascending order:
- Beijing (Chinese) cabbage - 12 kcal;
- white cabbage - 27 kcal;
- red cabbage - 25-27 kcal;
- Savoy cabbage - 28 kcal;
- cauliflower - 30 kcal;
- Broccoli - 34 kcal;
- Kohlrabi - 42 kcal;
- Brussels sprouts - 43 kcal.
Oddly enough, but, for example, the caloric content of pickled white cabbage is less than that of fresh. It is 23 kcal per 100 g of product. But the cabbage, past the heat treatment, is more calorie. Increase its energy value of the additives used for cooking: tomato, butter or vegetable oil, as well as a decrease in the volume of the finished product.
To calculate the caloric content of cabbage in the finished dish, you can use the formula: volume (weight) of fresh cabbage minus 40% multiplied by the caloric content of the product for 100 g and divided by 100.
For example, for 700 g of white cabbage:
- 700 g - 40% = 420 g;
- 420 g x 27 kcal = 11340;
- 11340: 100 = 113.4 kcal.
It turns out that having extinguished 700 g of cabbage, we get a dish calorie 113 kcal. Naturally, when adding oil or other additives to the dish, you need to take into account the caloric content of these products.
