How to create a name?

The file name is a very important thing: the clearer it is, the easier it is to remember what the file is and why it is needed. No less important is the username of the operating system, especially if there are several of them at the computer. In this article we will explain how to create a username and change the name of a file.

How to create a username

First, let's talk about how to create a new user of the operating system. Open the Control Panel through the Start menu, click the “User Accounts and Parental Controls” link. Then click the link "User Accounts", and in the window that opens - the link "Manage another account." Click the Create Account button, enter a username, select an account type, and click the second Create Account button.

If you have Windows 8 / 8.1, to create a username, you need to act differently. Move the cursor along the right side of the screen and select "Options". Click on the "Change computer settings" link in the panel that appears. On the screen that opens, go to the section "Accounts", and in it - in the subsection "Other accounts".

Click the Add Account button. By default, you are prompted to enter an email address to create a Microsoft account, but you can also create a local account — to do this, click the “Sign in without Microsoft account” link, and then click the “Local account” button. Enter your username, password (optional) and click "Next" and then "Done."

Rename files

Now let's talk about how to create a file name. To rename a file, select it in Explorer and then click once on it with the left mouse button or simply use the [F2] key. Explorer will go into rename mode and highlight the current file name. Enter a new name and click anywhere outside the rename frame, or simply press [Enter].

In the same way you can rename the folder.
