A creative approach can play an important role in the process of exploring the world around: making a variety of crafts from natural materials, the child will feel a deeper connection with plant and animal world, it is better to learn new knowledge. For example, familiarity with the realm of plants can be started by creating your own, unique, herbarium.
Collecting the most beautiful leaves
Before making a herbarium with a child, it is necessary to prepare as many interesting plant samples as possible.It is possible to use both their separate parts (leaves, petals, buds, flowers), and plants as a whole. It will be interesting to the child if the search for beautiful specimens will take place as part of a country trip or a tour of the park.
After collecting a sufficient number of interesting exhibits, they must be dried under pressure at room temperature. Then the collection will need to be arranged properly.
Most often, a herbarium for a kindergarten or school is drawn up in a regular drawing album or on separate sheets of white thick paper. Samples are fixed with glue, adhesive tape or safety pins. Sometimes, for the best of their safety, each sheet is covered from above with a thin transparent plastic film or immersed in a separate multifora. But you can try an unusual way to decorate the collected collection - for example, to make a herbarium of salt dough.
What you need for this:
- a disposable plate or palette;
- capacity for kneading dough;
- rolling pin;
- object with a hollow base in the form of a circle (glass, cup, plate, etc.);
- bright colors (it is better to use acrylic or oil paints,but gouache will also work);
In a separate container, mix one portion of salt and two portions of flour. Gradually, we dilute them with warm water until a plastic, retaining form, mass is formed. Knead it on the working surface, leave for some time to dissolve gluten.
Roll a piece of dough with a rolling pin in a rather thin layer (about one and a half centimeters). You can form such a cake with your hands, but in this case the surface will be more relief.
Cut the circle with the prepared shape.
