Since, in most cases, the heater breaks down in a typewriter, it means must be inspected first. The heater is located at the bottom of the tank, from the front or back of the machine. One probe is alternately connected to the electrical terminals of the heating element, the other to its body. When the metal sheath and the helix are closed, the tester will start to make sounds (squeak) and show resistance of 0 ohm. If a breakdown is detected in the heater, it must be replaced with a working one. To remove the heater from the washing machine: unscrew the nut of the clamping plate bolt so that the nut covers the beginning of the bolt thread. It is located near the temperature sensor. Hit the nut with a hammer, before moving it to the heater thrust plate. Holding his contact with pliers, applying vertical and horizontal forces, pull out the worn out part. Clean the TENA seat from the outside, inside the drum of dirt and scale. Disassemble and mount the temperature sensor from the removed electric heater to the mounted heater. On it, as far as possible, move the clip from the stubborn. In this case, the nut must be on the end of the bolt. Getting into the clamps for the heater, which are located inside the hermetic drum (this fixture of the heater is used only in old-fashioned machines), install the heater before touching the stop plate in the case. Tighten the nut until the heater locks securely in the seat.Connect electrical wires to the mounted assembly. Assemble and test equipment operation. Step # 2. The water temperature sensor is integrated in the stop bar and the rubber seal. Under the influence of temperature, it changes its resistance. To check it: 1. With the contact group, disconnect the connector. 2. Use a tester to determine the resistance of the part. The readings of a working sensor with an increase in the ambient temperature will change in a smaller direction. At a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, depending on the sensor model, the resistance is in the range of 5 - 6 kΩ, at 50 C0 - 1300 - 1400 Ohm. If the measuring device shows 0 or 1, then the sensor must be replaced with a working one. To do this: - unscrew the clamping bolt nut before it starts; - hit the nut before moving it to the interposer; - remove the damaged sensor; - into the vacant seat, install good sensor; - tighten the nut until the heater is firmly fixed; - connect the plug with the wires.

Step # 3. On the control board, determine where the relay is installed. It is easy to find through the wires connected to the heater. The relay consists of a control (electromagnet) and power unit (powerful moving contacts). To detect breakage, it is necessary to check the resistance of the inductor, which is in the range of 175 - 190 ohms and the condition of the contacts. The relay must be replaced if: 1. Electromagnet has a short or open circuit. 2. Contact during the circuit does not conduct electric current (oxidation, charring of working surfaces). 3. Contacts are always in the closed position (sticking). If one of the above types of breakdowns is detected, the relay must be replaced. Sequence of relay replacement: - using a soldering iron or an electric soldering dryer, disconnect it from the circuit board; - free the mounting holes from the tin; - onto the board, install a new relay; - Using flux and tin, solder the contacts securely to the tracks.
